Dental Hygiene

Our preventive hygiene service is an opportunity to learn how to care for your health. Unlike many offices, we only recommend the number of visits per year that are appropriate for your level of health. We see ourselves as a resource center, and we have a unique approach to learning new health behavior. Your hygienist may take X-rays, and will clean your teeth to remove plaque and tartar both above and below your gumline. She will examine your mouth for any evidence of disease. Often, diseases such as heart disease and diabetes have signs and symptoms that appear in the mouth first. Should any suspicious conditions be found, your hygienist will recommend a visit to your physician.
